About ODH Player Project

Development first. Trophies second.

ODH Player Project exists to build better players and better people, one honest evaluation at a time. We believe skill development is a long game — the kind that rewards patience, repetition, and an athlete's own progress against themselves, not a scoreboard.

The Jersey Pathway

Instead of age-group teams and end-of-season trophies, ODH players progress through a six-jersey pathway:
White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Red, and Black. Each jersey represents a real, tested level of technical and physical development — not a participation badge, and not something that can be bought or aged into.

  • White — Foundation (ages 5–7): Fall in love with the ball. Fun, ball familiarity, and fundamental movement.

  • Yellow — Apprentice (ages 7–9): Master your first touch. Technique before speed.

  • Orange — Craftsman (ages 9–12): Two feet, four turns, endless touches. The golden window for skill.

  • Green — Competitor (ages 11–14): Play fast, think faster. Speed of play and positional intelligence.

  • Red — Specialist (ages 13–16): Own your position. Raise your standards.

  • Black — ODH Elite (ages 16+): The complete player.
The standard-bearer — earned by invitation and examination, with three internal Degrees for players who keep pushing after they arrive.

A player only advances when they're ready — never on a clock, and never because a season ended.

How We Evaluate

Every jersey is earned through two independent Exam Days, and a player has to clear both.

Technical — the Ball Movement Test evaluates ball control under a standardized rubric.

Physical — Testing day covering movement quality, speed and agility, strength and power, and conditioning: sprint mechanics, push-ups, plank, the 5-10-5 agility test, broad jump, and single-leg landing control.

We score on a simple philosophy: there's no failing grade, only "not yet." A player who isn't ready gets specific, written feedback on exactly what closes the gap — and a plan to get there before the next Exam Day.

Our Philosophy

We'd rather tell a parent the truth about where their child stands than hand out a jersey they haven't earned. That honesty is what makes the system work: when a player does move up, it means something, and when they're not there yet, they know exactly what to work on next.

Character matters as much as skill. At every level, players are held to standards beyond the ball — effort, resilience, sportsmanship, and (starting at Red) leadership and mentorship of the players coming up behind them.

Join the Pathway

Whether your child is just falling in love with the ball or chasing the Black Jersey, ODH Player Project meets them exactly where they are — and gives them a clear, honest path to where they're going next.
